Guest Program
The Max Planck Institute for Chemistry offers scientists from Germany or abroad the opportunity to temporarily work at the Institute as a guest. You are able to use the Institute’s excellent infrastructure and to exchange information with international colleagues on site.
As a participant of our Guest Program, you receive a work station at the Institute and we support you in all things relating to everyday and scientific life. You are also welcome to actively take part in the academic and social life at the Institute.
Our guests include scientists from international cooperation partners, for example the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) as well as numerous organizations and awarding authorities (DAAD, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, etc.).
If you work on a research project which fits the Institutes portfolio and are interested in our Guest program, please speak to us.
Possibilities within the Guest Program
Should you not have external funding available, there is the possibility of receiving a grant from the Max Planck Society. The maximum duration of these bursaries is two years for graduated scientists and six months for PhD students. During this period, all scientific facilities including comprehensive relevant support is available to you for working on your project.
If you are interested in a guest stay at our Institute, please contact us. For more information about the registration process for the Guest Program, please click here.
PhD students
The option of a guest stay is of course also available to PhD students. PhD students can receive bursaries for up to six months from the Max Planck Society. Our aim is to offer young scientists the opportunity for academic exchange and networking in a unique and international environment, already in an early phase of their qualification. A stay accompanied by an established scientist, who participates in the Guest Program, is also possible. For more information about the application process for the Guest Program, please click here.
Should you be interested in a PhD from our Institute, please see the information about our Graduate Program here.
